The first Scary Movie came out thirteen years ago. It starred the Wayans brothers, Anna Faris, and the girl from American Pie. This weekend, the fifth sequel makes its star-studded debut: Heather Locklear represents the ‘80s, Simon Rex offers ‘90s nostalgia, and Ashley Tisdale proudly fronts the aughts. In celebration of the parody, we asked Tisdale to spill the beans on her favorite beauty product.

“I think I came across Kerastase's Serum Oleo-Relax ($40) at a salon maybe seven years ago--I’ve been using it for years! My hair’s super dry from being dyed so many shades of blonde, not to mention brunette, and bleached and styled. And I’m not great with oils (putting MoroccanOil on my hair actually made my face break out), but this has the same effect without affecting my skin. I put it on when I get out of the shower and let it air dry. No matter what climate I’m in--dry desert heat, humidity--the serum tames my hair so it’s not nearly as frizzy as it would be otherwise. I actually like that it doesn’t have a smell, and since I have such thick hair I can really pile it on. Someone with straight, thin hair should probably only use a tiny bit.”

Today, Scary Move 5 comes out, which stars Ashley Tisdale. Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan are in the film too but we digress. Anyway, in its honor, we want to talk about the rise and fall of Ashley Tisdale. Well, mostly just the rise.

Clearly High School Musical was Ashley's prime and we will still sometimes refuse to call her anything other than Sharpay, but Ash had some other noteworthy projects that have happened since that dear trilogy came to an end in 2008. Remember when...

Ashley voiced Candace on Phineas and Ferb? She played the bratty older sister role perfectly.

Ashley played Savannah on the short-lived cheerleading drama, Hellcats? That show was cancelled way too soon, if you ask us. Her co-star, Robbie Jones, is really hot and honestly just needed more airtime.

Ashley had a singing career? Good times. "He Said, She Said" is still to this day one of our favorite pop songs from a Disney star, just saying.

Ashley starred as Emma Jean on Sons of Anarchy? Grown-up TV was a good look for Ash.

Ashley revived her HSM character with Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure about her life as an aspiring Broadway actress? Austin Butler was her co-star and that's sorta kinda how Austin met and hooked up with his now girlfriend, Ashley's other co-star, Vanessa Hudgens! Love works in mysterious ways.

We spend a lot of time thinking about crushes here at Buzzworthy, but RARELY do our daydreams end up in nightmare territory. Obviously all bets are off, however, in a round of "F***, Marry, Kill," aka that game where you choose someone to eff, marry, or kill in a lineup of three dudes/gals (all ranging in desirability). And speaking of scary, "Scary Movie 5" star Ashley Tisdale put on a brave face for her own 2013 MTV Movie Awards-themed game of "F***, Marry, Kill" with MTV After Hours' Josh Horowitz, where she chose between horror movie characters and famous vampires (we're talking along the lines of Freddy Krueger and Dracula). Clearly Ashley had given this matter some thought, as she wisely elected to marry Edward Cullen aka Robert Pattinson (GET IN LINE), kill a zombie, and f*** a certain chocolate cereal mascot. (Sounds kinky. At least Nosferatu didn't make the list.)

Ashley Tisdale has definitely shed her Disney roots with a sexy new cover shoot for Maxim, but during her Mickey Mouse tenure, she kept it PG. On the most recent "Nikki & Sara LIVE," The Tizz tells Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer that a closed-mouth kissing rule on "The Suite Life" left her explicitly forbidden from full-on making out with Zac Efron, but that didn't stop him from trying to slip her the tongue regardless.

"He went for it!" Ash says in the interview below. "And I came out of that kiss like, 'Woah!' Like, he was trying to get in there." The Zac attack wasn't her only onset curve ball, though, as Molly Shannon's hilarious shenanigans left Ashley giggling all through filming "Scary Movie 5." To help her focus, the movie's director suggested she channel "Unsolved Mysteries"' Robert Stack, and the fact that she (like us) had no idea who he actually was became her golden ticket to playing the scene. When it was over, the director praised her acting and asked how she kept it together. Her answer? "I was thinking, like, who the f**k is Robert Stack?"

The 27-year-old actress stopped by Sirius XM radio to chat up her new movie, Scary Movie V, where she ran into co-star friend Sarah Hyland.

The 27-year-old Scary Movie 5 actress opened up about heading to the spoof-horror genre: “I just like doing things that take me out of my comfort zone. People haven’t seen me do anything like this before.”

Ashley added one of her fave funny movies: “I loved Airplane! He [screenwriter David Zucker] just has a great formula for spoofing movies.”

Keeping her man close for a frightening flick, Ashley Tisdale headed to the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood to catch "Evil Dead" on Friday (April 5).

The "High School Musical" star looked cute in a gray striped sweater, jeans, and black heels while her rocker beau Christopher French sported a KISS T-shirt as he wrapped his arm around his gal. Earlier in the day, Ashley hit the Nine Zero One salon in West Hollywood to make sure she looked her best for her man.

On April 6, the Disney Channel Rocks attraction at Walt Disney World shut its doors, and the last theme park reference to the glorious and profitable “High School Musical” franchise was gone.

But Ashley Tisdale, one of those who came to fame in the movies — as singing, sniping “mean girl” Sharpay — isn’t shedding a tear and isn’t looking back.

“It’s been a few years, so we’ve moved on and I guess the fans have, too,” Tisdale says, referring to 2011′s Sharpay swan song, “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.” “But we had a great run.”

Tisdale, 27, a New Jersey native and in “the business” since age 3, knows you can’t get sentimental over past work. She still does Disney projects — her Blondie Girl Production company just produced a Disney Channel film, “Cloud Nine.” But Tisdale left her “Disney Darling” (Saturday Night Magazine) image behind when she posed nude for Allure magazine a couple of years back. She even guest starred on the cable biker drama “Sons of Anarchy” last year.

And now she’s taken on “the blond” role in the “Scary Movie” franchise, in essence replacing Anna Faris, who appeared in several of the earlier films in the series. Tisdale was surprised by the extremes the producers went to in order to ensure their horror parody “was totally up to date.”

In January, “I went to see ‘Mama’ (the year’s biggest horror hit) on opening weekend. Scared me to death. But at one point, I realized ‘Jessica Chastain’s a step-mom to these awful little girls. That would have fit perfectly in our film. Too bad we’ve wrapped.’

“Couple of weeks later, the phone rings, ‘Yeah, we’re doing re-shoots, adding ‘Mama’ to the movie.’ And they even got a reference or two to ‘Evil Dead,’ just working off the trailer to that one.”

Tisdale got to do a version of horror’s favorite stunt these days, a “money shot” that turns up in films from “Paranormal Activity” to “Evil Dead” — an actor or actress dragged suddenly out of the frame and into the darkness.

“They strap you in this harness, put your costume over it and yank you. It’s pretty simple. They don’t have to surprise you with it. Your reaction’s where the acting comes in. You’ve got to give them that terrified face as you’re pulled away from the camera. And you want to get it right the first time, because it’s not fun, getting yanked like that.”
Tisdale grew a worldwide fan base, thanks to “High School Musical” and the record deal (two solo albums thus far) that came from that. But she’s happy that the comically terrified mom — “STEP mom. let’s not get carried away” — she plays in “Scary Movie 5″ “is a me that people haven’t seen before. This is a lot edgier than anything I’ve been in before, and hopefully it’ll surprise people.”

She is set to co-star in a big budget version of the “Rapture” series, “Left Behind,” with Nicolas Cage, which could start shooting in May. And after that? “Maybe back into the recording studio, just to see what happens.”

At 27, Ashley Tisdale has ditched her “High School Musical” alter ego Sharpay Evans to become the last thing Hollywood ever expected.

Tisdale is one of the suits — albeit one in high heels.

 “We’re developing reality shows, scripted series and movies,” she says of her Blondie Girl Productions. “This is my other side.”

Is she a mini mogul?

“I guess so,” she says with a laugh.

“It’s cool that I can come up with ideas that I want to do and create projects for my friends to star in. I like to be part of the whole creative process,” says Tisdale, who’s producing the upcoming Disney Channel snowboarding film “Cloud 9” with Shaun White.

She also finds time to act. This Friday, she stars in “Scary Movie V,” another horror parody with appearances by Jerry O’Connell, Kate Walsh, Heather Locklear, Molly Shannon and Sarah Hyland.

She was on the set when Lindsay Lohan shot scenes with Charlie Sheen.

“It was all good,” Tisdale says. “Everyone was happy to be there. I’ve known Lindsay for a long time, but I haven’t seen her for a long time. She did a good job. Charlie was super nice and professional.”

“Scary V” wasn’t easy. “I’m used to doing comedies,” she says, “but this was probably one of the hardest projects I’ve ever worked on. It’s hard to spoof movies. You have to take it really seriously.

“I was at the core of the movie and I shot for three months in Atlanta. The cameo people would come and go — and I had no idea who was cast. One day, Mike Tyson just walked in. It was like, ‘Yeah, he’s here today.’

“Tyson plays himself in a ‘50 Shades of Grey’ spoof that’s really funny.”

What films does Tisdale spoof? “I do ‘Black Swan,’ ‘Mama,’ ‘Inception,’ ‘Rise of the Apes’ and ‘Paranormal Activities,’ ” she liss. “My character is always saying there is something in the house and my screen husband, played by Simon Rex, is like, ‘No, you’re too suspicious.’ ”

Tisdale also starred on TV’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and “Hellcats,” and voices tattletale Candace on the animated hit “Phineas and Ferb.”

“Kids always want to talk to me about ‘High School Musical.’ But I mostly get recognized from ‘Phineas and Ferb.’ At the Kids Choice Awards, Jon Stewart said to me, ‘Every single time I hear your voice, I think I’m busted.’ ”

On the big screen, she branched out with “Aliens in the Attic” (2009).

“My next project is supposed to be ‘Left Behind’ with Nicolas Cage,” she says. “I’m working all the time.”

She’s also thinking about recording again.

“People are always asking when I’ll come out with the next album, but I like to do one thing at a time,” she says. “For me, I have to be inspired. I’m going to start to focus more and more on music. I feel the itch for it.”

As the gossip rags continue to track the lives of the “High School Musical” alumni, Tisdale has managed to lay low. How did she end up so normal?

“My parents are a big part of it,” she says. “I went to regular school my whole life and worked in a clothing store between movie projects.”

Tisdale sighs. “I look at my business as a business. When the day is over, I go back to my normal life. I just hang out with family and friends. I want to be known for my work than anything else.”

As for her favorite breakfast food, Tisdale said, "I love pancakes, and I actually do love healthy stuff. Like I love gluten-free or whole-wheat pancakes. Breakfast is my favorite meal."

So how does she fight putting on pounds?

"I just love carbs," she said. "And when I'm on vacation I definitely allow myself carbs, so it's always funny when people are like, ‘Oh my gosh, you look great in your bikini.' I'm like, ‘If you only knew what I had for breakfast!'"

And I was told circuit training is, like, you've got to keep up with your heart rate and all this stuff. He was like, ‘It's funny, because it makes you more hungry,' which is so true.

"He wants you to work out, but not like overeat because you're like straining yourself and stuff. I just do more like lightweight training. It's a lot easier."

The 27-year-old actress stopped by KIIS FM  (April 3) to chat up her new movie, Scary Movie 5, and cycling with BFF Vanessa Hudgens.

“We do Soul Cycle together, spin class, it’s a lot of fun. It gets you bikini ready,” Ashley dished of their workout time. “I feel like it’s 45 minutes [long] but it feels like an hour. [The music distracts you] the music is so amazing.”

LOS ANGELES – The Hub TV network, a destination for kids and their families, announced today that the pop culture phenomenon SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH will return to television in the all-new original animated series, “Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch.” Actress, singer and High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale will lend her voice to the lead character of Sabrina. Currently in production and slated to premiere in the summer of 2013, the series will feature the iconic teen character re-imagined for a new generation.

The animated “Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch” series was acquired by The Hub and produced by Moonscoop, Archie Comic Publications, Inc., DSK Group, India, Laughing Lion, and Telegael Teoranta. Writer Dean Batali (“What’s Up Warthogs,” “That 70’s Show,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) will be story editor and Trevor Wall ("Hero 108") will serve as director for the series.

In the upcoming series “Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch,” Sabrina is half-witch and half-human, and all super hero as she leads two vastly different lives; one disguised as a normal, klutzy high school student and the other as the top sorcery student in the magical world. When her two worlds collide, Sabrina is the only one who has the power to battle her foes, while managing to keep her magical identity a secret from humankind.
