Having flown into town the previous evening, Ashley Tisdale was spotted out and about in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday (May 25).

The "Aliens In the Attic" actress happily strolled along with her pet pooch as she visited a local tattoo and piercings shop during a break from work obligations.

Tweeting her excitement over the trip to Toronto, Tizzie wrote the previous day, "Toronto here I come!!!! Xoxo"

As for the reason for the journey up north, Ashley is getting down to work on "Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventures".

Talking about a guest visitor in the Disney production, the 24-year-old told MTV, “I know [Vanessa's] super busy because she’s about to promote her movies and stuff. But we definitely do have a special cameo. You just don’t know which character it is. I do. I just can’t tell you. It’s a secret!”

Ashley Tisdale sits inside her massive closet in a new feature from the June 2010 issue of InStylemagazine.

The 24-year-old actress offers a unique view of her new home in Toluca Lake, Calif., and dished about what inspired her to decorate and her “contractor” gene.

Part of Ashley’s new home — the pool area and backyard — were modeled loosely on Las Ventanas in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, which is one of Ash’s favorite hotels in the tropics.

Ashley shared, “I definitely got my dad’s [Mike] ‘construction’ gene. When I was younger, I had my own tool  belt. I can build anything from Ikea! Also, whenever I travel, I get really into the architecture of the buildings.”

Not only does the 24-year-old actress have an upcoming TV series (Hellcats) and a DCOM (Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventures) coming out, she’s also signed on to a new Jason Fuchs‘ project called The Last First Time.

In an interview with the NY Post, Jason shared, “It’s an apocalyptic romantic comedy. I play a college freshman who is still a virgin and he discovers that the world is going to be destroyed by a meteor in 48 hours. So I decide to take advantage of that and hook up with a girl I’ve had a crush on since 6th grade, played by Ashley. It goes very badly."

When Ashley Tisdale suits up to play a college cheerleading captain in Hellcats on the CW this fall, she’ll be living the life she intended – at least on TV. (Psst! She’s also days away from filming Sharpay’s High School Musical spinoff.)

“Education’s big in my family, and I went to regular school my whole life in Valencia,” she tells me during the CW Upfront held Thursday in NYC. “At the time when I had just gotten out of high school, I took a year off of school, and I said ‘dad, this is all I want to do — acting.’ I took as many acting classes as I could because he was like ‘I don’t want you waiting around. It’s really big that you’re not doing this.’”

She even chose a major.

“I was going to go for writing,” she confesses. “But once I booked The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, with Disney, you really have no time.”

She wouldn’t change a thing.

“This is what I want to do – this is what I love to do with my life. I’m not the type of person to sit in class. I get to do that on the show, so that’s perfect.”

After three High School Musicals, she couldn’t be happier to graduate to a college show. (Bonus: Her co-star is longtime pal Aly Michalka, of Aly and AJ fame!)

“I’m 25 years old now, so I’ve been in high school for a long time,” Ashley laughs.

But she hasn’t completely abandoned the Disney franchise that made her a household name.

“I’m doing a Sharpay movie in four days in Toronto, but it’s not really Sharpay,” Ashley says. “She’s still Sharpay, but she’s now the lead of the movie. You used to love to hate her, but now you have to fall in love with her. You get to see why she is the way she is, you see her in a different light. She’s not in college, but she’s supposed to be. She’s in New York City fulfilling her dreams on Broadway.”

At the CW's Upfronts Presentation on May 20, the network announced its official pick-up of "Hellcats," a college cheerleading show in the vein of "Bring it On" and "Fired Up." Zap2it caught up with star Ashley Tisdale on the red carpet to get the details on what to expect from "Hellcats" next fall.

Finally, we had to ask about working with the series' super executive producer, "Smallville" star Tom Welling. "It's amazing! I get to look at him every day," she tells us. "He's so cute. I mean, have you seen him?"

In "Hellcats," Tisdale plays Savannah, the captain of the squad. "She's very driven, very focused. Cheerleading's been her whole life." It takes Marty, the latest cheerleading recruit played by Aly Michalka, to draw Savannah out of her shell.

Though the character may sound like a revamped version of Sharpay, the "High School Musical" character Tisdale became famous for, don't expect them to be too similar. "[Savannah's] not a mean girl," Tisdale says. "Sharpay was a mean girl. You think Savannah's going to be mean, but she really actually isn't."

That said, Savannah doesn't necessarily have it all together. "She's just a little bit off," Tisdale says. "She's definitely off. I mean, she's the captain of the cheerleaders. She's a flyer up on the top of the pyramid. You have to be a little bit off to do that."

Busy promoting their new gig, Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka were spotted arriving at the CW Upfront at Madison Square Garden in Midtown, Manhattan on Thursday (May 20).

The two lovely ladies looked fabulous as they posed for pictures while trying to boost interest in their new show "Hellcats".

Hitting CW network airwaves this fall, the "Hellcats" series is "about life at a big college campus in the South."

Microsoft (NSDQ:MSFT) could overcome the tepid reviews of its new Kin One and Kin Two devices by hiring teen idols to vouch for Kin's coolness, and pop singers Justin Bieber and Ashley Tisdale are two logical candidates.

In fact, Microsoft already has a business relationship with both stars. Bieber's performance at the opening of Microsoft's retail store in Mission Viejo, Calif. last fall attracted a mob scene of shrieking teens, and Tisdale's performance elicited howls of adulation at the opening of Microsoft's Scottsdale, Ariz. store.

What's more, when Bill Gates joined Twitter in January, Tisdale was one of the first people he chose to follow. If Tisdale and Bieber start carrying around Kin devices, this would provide the kind of impact that Microsoft couldn't get from any marketing campaign.

Microsoft will have to get creative in marketing Kin, because the devices aren’t much cheaper than full fledged smartphones, and Verizon's $30 mandatory data plan could be a big stumbling block, especially for teens.

Julie De Jong, an Atlanta-based Windows Mobile MVP, is unsure about how well Kin devices will sell and says their form factor seems "dated and clunky."

"The iPhone and some of the Windows Mobile HTC phones have a snazzier look and feel and don't cost that much more than the Kin," De Jong said. "Nonetheless marketing can be very effective and it appears that Microsoft is putting a lot of marketing dollars behind Kin."

Microsoft's early Kin marketing efforts have been pretty racy. In a promotional video on the Kin.com Website, a young man sticks a Kin device under his shirt, snaps a photo of his breast and sends it to his female friend, who smiles and shakes her head upon receiving the image.

Microsoft subsequently edited out this scene, but clearly, the company is pulling out the stops to reach a new audience. If Windows Mobile is an example of what happens when Microsoft doesn't experiment, then Kin represents the other side of the coin.

Regardless of whether Kin succeeds, Dave Sobel, CEO of Evolve Technologies, a Fairfax, Va.-based Microsoft partner, is encouraged by the fact that Microsoft is willing to try something different in mobile.

"Companies are trying out more specialized devices, and the Kindle and iPad are examples. I'm encouraged by all this new experimentation," Sobel said. "The mobile industry hasn’t had enough innovation, and you have to be willing to take some risks.
